Create an elective group when two or more courses fulfill one degree requirement.
On most sites created by Clean Catalog, you can find the button click here to create an elective group underneath the Degree Section Courses on the Create Degree page.
If you don’t see this button, you can alternatively navigate to Manage → Content → Add content → Elective Group to create an elective group.
If you don't have these options, you likely don't have permission to create elective groups and will need to contact your site’s administrator.
You will need to add a title to the elective group. This may be something like “HUM 101 or HUM 102” or “Humanities Electives.”
You may also see an Administrative Title field below the main title field. This can be used to provide additional admin-only details about the elective group to aid in adding elective groups to degrees. For example, if you have multiple elective groups simply titled “Elective”, you could use this field to indicate the degree program that this particular elective group belongs to. This information won’t display anywhere to visitors.

The administrative title will display in brackets following the elective group title when creating or editing degrees.

Enter the number of credits that the courses in the elective group fulfill in the Elective Credits field. You can add a larger number to the Elective Max Credits field to create a range.
We also recommend adding a description in the Elective Group Description field and/or linking the optional courses in the Degree Section below the credit fields, similar to how you would add courses to a degree.
Click Save at the bottom of the page.
Navigate back to the degree you’re working on, and enter the title of the elective group to link it, the same way you would enter a course code to link a course.
