Addendums provide a way to document changes made to catalog content after the catalog has been published for an academic year. Most accrediting agencies have specific requirements about how this additional information is handled, and the addendum feature in Clean Catalog can be customized to suit your unique requirements.

While your institution may desire to manage edits post-catalog publication differently than what we’ve described here, many institutions manage addendums in one of two ways that we support out of the box.
In this approach, when revisions are needed on a course, degree, or text page, a catalog editor or admin will make the edits directly to that page. When an addendum is used, these edits only need to be summarized on the addendum page.
Pros
✅ End users will be able to see in one spot the correct and most up-to-date version of the content
✅ Usual process for catalog editors
✅ No extra work on your staging site for next year as corrections are already fully implemented
Cons
❌ Page numbers in your PDF will change, which can be a problem for some accrediting or government agencies
With this method, the actual course/degree/text page is left alone, and the revision or addition is simply noted on the addendum in the Revision Description field. The addendum becomes the only source that contains the corrected version. However, the pages included in the addendum will have a link on them directing users to refer to the addendum.
Pros
✅ Page numbers in your PDF won’t change, helping you stay in good favor with accrediting agencies
✅ The overall catalog process is treated as being “locked” once published
Cons
❌ Different process for catalog edits and admins of noting edits in the addendum
❌ End users have to click over to see the addendum to get all the correct information
