Our site search uses a dedicated index in the site database, rather than an external service such as Google. It includes published content that visitors can access, but excludes PDF generators, personnel, elective groups, and table of contents pages (this can be adjusted). The index uses page titles, main content, and selected catalog fields. Searches require all entered terms and ignore capitalization. Results are ranked by relevance, shown ten at a time, and include highlighted excerpts. Headings and other formatted content, such as italicized and bolded text, receive a higher priority in the results.
