Our syllabi lock feature disables any future editing or updating to syllabi, including updates that pull from linked courses or global syllabi. It is utilized primarily to create a historical archive of syllabi, representing the syllabi at the point in time when it was locked.

To view the list of syllabi that can be locked, navigate to ManageContent → Lock Instructor Syllabi. You can filter these by published status, title, or term to find the syllabus or syllabi you are looking to lock.

You can select as many syllabi as you need to lock. You even have the option to select all syllabi for a particular term.

Once the syllabi are selected, simply click Lock Instructor Syllabi.

Alternatively, you may also lock syllabi from the page at ManageContent. Use the filters to show only instructor syllabi, then select the desired syllabi from the list. Then under Action, select Lock Syllabi, then click Apply to selected items.

Once the syllabi are locked, they will no longer appear on the Lock Instructor Syllabi screen. You can still find them under Manage → Content, however they will no longer be editable. Locked syllabi can be cloned. Keep in mind that the cloned version will pull in the latest information from the linked course and global syllabus.
